Nightlife Disability Services Inc. won in the category of Excellence in Inclusive Service Delivery at the 2016 National Disability Awards. Nightlife President Dean Richards and Manager Vincenza Nobile accepted the award on 7 November at Parliament House Canberra.
The National Disability Awards recognise the achievements of people and organisations that have improved the lives of people with disability. Nightlife Disability Services understands that people with disability often rely on support from family members, or an extended support network at night. The Nightlife service model supports each person's independence and choice, therefore reducing their reliance on partners, family or friends.
The Awards are a major part of the Commonwealth Government's celebration of International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). IDPwD on 3 December is an opportunity to make positive changes to the lives of 4 million Australians. It is also an opportunity for the entire community to GET INVOLVED.
Talk to work colleagues, family members and schools, and urge them to Get Involved in International Day of People with Disability. Show your support and organise or participate in a local IDPwD event. Thousands of events are held each year to celebrate IDPwD in communities, at schools and in workplaces.
Register your event at www.idpwd.com.au and you will receive FREE promotional material.
